Kevin Gates began his music career in 2007 after signing with the local label Dead Game Records. His early work included mixtapes like Pick of Da Litter (2007) and All or Nuthin’ (2008), collaborations with Boosie Badazz and Webbie.
In 2011, Gates gained significant attention with the release of his hit mixtape Make ‘Em Believe. He also founded his own label, Bread Winners’ Association, under which he released his first mixtape, Luca Brasi Story, in 2013.
